Forest Hills, NY Forest Hills, NY Part-time Full-time Part-time Full-time $50,000 a year $50,000 a year Plaza College invites applications for the position of Simulation Tech in its Center for Healthcare Simulation, supporting the learning experiences of the students in the upper division Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program.
The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative environment that is focused on establishing a premier simulation center featuring four simulation labs with multiple simulators (lo to ultra-high fidelity), task trainers, hospital-grade headwalls, and medical equipment.
They will work with the nursing team to:
Provide technical design and support for all simulation operations, including preparation, maintenance and repair of simulators, task trainers and related multimedia (audio/visual) peripherals.
Program and test software to model simulators' (computerized manikins) physiological responses to instructor specifications.
Coordinate props placement and set up to create a virtual healthcare setting, and take down/cleaning of simulation and healthcare equipment.
Assist in writing and participate in simulation role-playing under the direction of the Program Director and course instructor(s).
Conduct audio/visual recording and transfer to archival format for analysis, and manage communication tools, data collection and collation and prepare educational materials.
Manage procurement of hardware, software and audio /visual equipment including; cost, installation and use, software modification, and user education, training and orientation.
Manage acquisition of supplies, tracking, scheduling, and organization of supplies and equipment.
This is an in-person, year-round position at Plaza College's campus in Forest Hills, Queens.
QUALIFICATIONS A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (clinical healthcare or technical majors preferred) is required.
Medical knowledge or certification (EMT, Paramedic, RT, other allied health) strongly preferred.
Simulation experience preferred.
Qualified applicants must be able to maneuver and lift equipment up to 100 pounds.
